“The melody may be a bit sad but Breathe Out, is as all the songs by Eckman & Borelius suppose to make you feel relaxed and at ease, make you dream yourself away and perhaps even comfort you. The message is easy – your life might seem dark and without hope, but things will hopefully turn out fine and one thing is always certain – the sun will rise tomorrow as well.”

“I wrote the original idea on guitar and, as always, Johan made a piano version and some changes. It’s not always that I enjoy listening to my vocals, but this time I can survive it. We’re also a bit nervous about what will happen in Sweden since a famous artist called Thomas Stenström has released a Swedish song called Breathe in, Breathe Out. Typical!”

Avalon Stone “Harder” Released January 26th
‘Harder’ follows Avalon’s extremely successful October 2023 release of her debut single ‘Forget You’ that I covered here in the week 48 from 2023. The faster track ‘Forget You’ was quickly embraced by the alt, rock and metal communities, and is over 40 k on Spotify only.
The slower yet even more arresting “Harder” (written with collaborator Joe Jacobs and produced by Juno winning Kevin Dietz) shows us a different side of the artist, perfect for those darker winter months. Avalon shares, “I always knew ‘Harder’ would be the January release. It’s a time when many struggle with depression, and I wanted this song to be a companion during those tough moments.”

Stone delves into the emotional complexity of mental health struggles, capturing that feeling of being
trapped in your own thoughts. The song mirrors Avalon’s personal experiences and offers a raw, unfiltered exploration of depression and innocence lost. “Every one of us has experiences that teach us hard lessons” contemplates Stone, “and a lot of the time we get stronger because of them, but sometimes they really knock you down and you feel like you can’t get up again.”
Oliver Jordan “Secret 13” Released January 26th.
Talking about Oliver explains “This song comes from the heart. I hope people can relate. When someone you love becomes a memory, it’s a sad thing… The lyrics are pretty much self-explanatory… It’s about losing a friend to drugs.”

“The best would be not to have any expectations, and instead be open minded. Let the music speak for itself. I’m rather genre-fluid. It’s hard to pinpoint my music. But they should not expect “happy” songs. It’s always dark, sad, crazy and/or melancholic. My music is an expression of my personality.”

Amélie Ferrari “If I’m not good enough for you” Released January 19th.
Embark on an emotional journey of self-discovery and resilience with the pop song ‘If I’m Not Good Enough for You.’ The lyrics unveil the struggle against the fear of not being loved enough, the pain of unspoken words, and the powerful decision to ultimately choose self-love.

With a poignant chorus expressing the desire to be ‘good enough’ for another, this song is a raw and honest expression of the quest for self-worth and the pursuit of a love that embraces every part of who we are. Listen and connect with the voyage of self-love, embracing the journey towards being enough for oneself.
Lakeside X “Fascination EP” Released March 17th, 2023.
The single/EP “Fascination” in addition to the single version of the song, it also includes remixes and live tracks. The remix of Fascination by the Pe3Vax project seems to have fallen out of the creative workshop of the Yazoo duo sometime in late 1981/82, while the Bare Harmonium Mix of Out Of This World by the band themselves takes you on a dreamy walk through the Nordic landscape. The EP is complemented by three live tracks – Fascination, Fire In The Sky and Wonder – all recorded at the album release party at Lucerna Music Bar.

Lakeside X are alternative independent pop/rock band based in Prague, Czech Republic. An inspiration for their sound can be found in realms of classical synth-pop (like Depeche Mode) as well as modern electronic music (Royksopp) or even alternative guitar british rock (like Placebo).
In 2023, Lakeside X reached another big milestone – their great role model, the legendary band Depeche Mode, chose them as the support act for their Prague concert on 30 July 2023.
