It’s new band time! This time it’s a international duo called Sugar Scars, and they have just recently released their first single together called “Haight”. Sugar Scars takes us to a dancefloor for a hot psychedelic night, where a sudden connection of passion takes place, a fascination turned to love for the duration of this incredible night.

Sugar Scars is a music project that hops the border between the members’ home countries US and Mexico and ignores those of music genres. The project is led on by two multi-instrumentalist DJ’s with love for a huge variety of music. As representatives of unique border cultures, Sugar Scars was born from an experiment of clashing the different ideas and finding the result being far more intriguing than expected. So, they went right in and started working together on more musical infusions. Cue “Haight”, their first single, and it’s quite a tune!
“This was the First Song we wrote as a collabaration. From there we knew this would work. The new album will feature songs that are difficult to label but with definite dance elements.”

Hazy vocals lead the way to a party with an indie band providing the music for tonight. Along the moving bodies there’s someone that captures your eye, and you move closer in to try and spark up an interaction. The sound of the playing band as well as the chatter of surrounding people starts to infuse with the reverb in your mind, and the smoky air is painted pink and purple by stage lighting. The guitars and percussion give sound to the pulsating passion that has built up, and for the height of “Haight” there’s the seemingly endless moment that you’ve been waiting for. The moment of sheer bliss spent together drunk from love-infused passion.
Or, at least that’s what the love-yearning mind comes up with while you listen to the band while drinking a beer.
The passion-driven single “Haight” is both the duo’s debut single overall, and also a debut from an upcoming full-length album “Rhythmic Body Reactions”. It’s currently not yet known when the LP will be set to release but keep your ears peeled and you’ll see! There’s no telling what other intoxicating magic Sugar Scars have in the making, but the debut song has definitely perked out ears in full attention.
