Che Arthur is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Chicago, USA. With already three albums published, he’s best known for his ability to convey emotion and imagery through his music and lyrics. Influenced by artists like Husker Du, Unwound, Dinosaur Jr and Jawbox Che Arthur’s sound is best described as dark, melodic, and cathartic.

“The Sliver” is an open letter to the artist’s inner struggles. A glimpse into his inner battle to stay alive in a world where he feels left out. No wonder why the track is filled with heavy and almost anxious riffs, as well as heart-in-hand vocals.

Showing also impressions of a Jane’s Addiction influence, the song feels raw and deep; thought-provoking and, admittedly, a bit worrisome. For, just as an artist creates to express, Che Arthur creates as an attempt to stay alive.

“The Sliver” is the second song released from “For That Which Now Lies Fallow”, Che Arthur’s fourth solo album. It deals with the ways severe depression can make the outside world very intimidating and threatening, and how there are forces in the world whose specific aim is to destroy what slivers of hope certain others hold.

Arthur’s fourth upcoming album is said to be a dark journey, and will come with a total of 10 songs about his own internal struggles, like dealing with cancer, aging, feelings of isolation and heartbreak, among other challenges.

In his own words, “The guitar and my voice are the most direct means I have to deal with those demons. So, when I say I made this record in an attempt to stay alive, I am not exaggerating.“

With this new single, Arthur shows that he has not given up yet, as that sliver of hope remains. So, listen now!
