Swedish electronic artist Karin Turesson released back in 2022 her debut album as Sunstroke Rain, titled Spark and it featured a very interesting take on the electronica scene. Now, she is back with a brand new single called “Life Is Sacred”, produced by british artist Mera Bhai. The pair met late last year and spent a few days on Mera’s studio creating and developing sounds with different influences.

The result from said collaboration is the track “Life Is Sacred”, something that sounds cohesive with the sounds explored by Karin on Spark but that feel completely brand new at the same time. Like an amalgamation of different sides of electronic music being merged together as one, “Life Is Sacred” features pristine production and rises Karin’s vocals to new levels of dreaminess. Combining perfectly elements that range from dream pop to trip-hop with remarkable understanding and synergy.
Both artists hadn’t known each other before this, and that makes the track even more astounding. You can feel so much intimacy and trust between the musicians, like a surreal dreamscape that could only be built on months or even years of prior collaborations – and this was only their first.
“I’m really happy about the result! We made this song after only four days together in his studio. As we didn’t know each other before, this is something that really surprised us!”, Karin herself said about the collab.
“I loved working with Karin. Sunstroke Rain is such an interesting project and it was a breath of fresh air working with someone focused on pushing musical boundaries. She tries her utmost to create music that works but sits outside conventions”, Mera completed.
The musical chemistry and shared energy between the two artists is gobsmacking, creating delicate but intense electronic sounds with so much depth and detail. With a simple set of lyrics and a powerful message about enjoying life and living in honesty, caring for family and loved ones that never once sounds artificial or fake. There is real caring on Karin’s words and melodies, carefully constructed to encircle the listener in a cloud of love.
“Life Is Sacred” shares a truly unique vision, one that relies on companionship and enhancing your life by sharing happiness and selflessness with the ones you care for. It features a groundbreaking electronic production that feels incredibly creative and inventive, adding layers of sounds and instruments that complement each other into one common goal.
“Most people simply want to live peaceful lives with their families and friends, pursue education and work, and focus on building a better future”, that dream is at the centre of the single’s both message and sound, and it feels incredibly hopeful and placid from start to finish. Let us hope that these two have another collaboration between them soon, because this sounds ethereal and much needed amidst the chaos of everyday real life.
