In Seaker’s words, “Lately” is a support song written to be a beam of light shining through darkness for the lost souls in there. The darkness, where a person might have lost sight of their self-worth and fail to see why they’re worthy of any kind of love and attention, is all-consuming and devastating. “Lately” goes against it with a sound of heartfelt sympathy, reaching out to caress the pain away from the hearts of hurting ones. Whether it’s yourself or your beloved that’s hurt, the song’s set to come and hug just the same.
The echoing, comforting sound of “Lately” comes as a glimmer of light into tear-soaked pit of despair. Instead of letting the current troubles keep eating away on thy soul, the song takes a look back to help recognise the long way with past victories and life-changing moments.
