A big change or a major awakening is something that becomes necessary in life occasionally. Taking it on, however, is fairly dreadful. This is where Art Police comes in – their newly released song is all about diving into a huge change and tackling the doubts it comes with. Titled “Ready To Go”, the journey starts now.

Like all beginnings to something life-changing, the song starts off surrounded with hesitation. Electric guitar echoing in purple haze soon finds its melody and sticks to it, inviting more elements to come join the path towards change. “Ready To Go” builds itself up slowly, but with certainty, and by the time vocals sung in duet by Artem Polyakov and Iolanda Diana come in, there’s a strong feeling of excitement and anxiety. Excitement for the new, anxiety for the what if’s.
At this point, “Ready to Go” spurs itself forth and jumps into the cathartic resolution, ready to write onto the new page in life. The regrets and doubts may still be around, but they’re now quieted down as things are now in motion. In the joyous soaring conclusion, the fears and hesitations are soon forgotten and there’s a relief and a sense of happiness for having finally gone forward with the big decision. It’s been a success.
The song itself came to be as a collaboration between Artem Polyakov, who did the writing and arrangements, and Federico Lodi, who carried out the recording tasks. It’s the newest installment to the band’s introspective music on a person’s internal world, this time about the inner turmoil at the doorstep to a big change. And like the change needs to be well-prepared and carefully thought about, the band’s music-making ethos is, besides covering true emotions, only writing a song when one can’t resist writing it.
