Harry Kappen reveals new, introspective LP on the joys and curses of life – “Time Will Tell”

Dutch artist Harry Kappen has just released his newest full-length album titled “Time Will Tell”. Coming from the pen of a seasoned artist with plenty of experience, the album is an autobiographical work of art looking into Kappen’s dreams, fears, love and what the future has in store. Those introspective themes meet Kappen’s diverse musicality – “Time Will Tell” reflects the rollercoaster life can be with its moments both happy and sad.

And so it begins with a strong message to humanity losing their heads into the speedy way of living the sleep-eat-work-consume lifestyle. “Cool Down” is the fourth single released along with the album, and it tells listeners to slow down and reflect what they really want from life. Previous three songs that sparked up anticipation for the then-upcoming album, include the melancholic ballad “One Life” on the limited time available to experience with the loved ones, and a gentle rock song of gratitude “Not All of Us Agreed”. The album finishes off on a high note with “The Freedom Inside”, providing the power of change hidden within us.

The singles join 8 brand new songs to form a 45-minute emotional journey, where hopes and dreams meet love with its complexities and fears of what is happening to society these days. All of them come wrapped into glorious instrumentation presenting emotive vocals, and while every track has its own personal sound, they all come together to provide a warm, descriptive and beautiful window into life of one human being experiencing things that are highly personal, but also mutually shared.

Harry Kappen and his guitar
“Harry Kappen is an independent Dutch musician, producer and music therapist. He is an
experienced musician, a multi-instrumentalist, who played in many bands in the
Netherlands and as a producer he worked with a lot of Dutch pop bands”.

Slow, weighty rock ballads like the title track “Time Will Tell” come hand-in-hand with synth pop inspired charmers “Go With the Tide” and rhythmic foot-shuffling tunes like “Open Your Heart”, that get the listeners up from their butts and inspires to move their bodies and their hearts. There’s lots more full-bodied, soul-caressing and highly enjoyable tunes present on the album to bring more light into the hidden yet relevant themes for the living.

Personal, yet shareable experiences mark the notion that no-one is alone in their curses and blessings, as well as the power music has in uniting people. For Harry Kappen that’s also his job as a music therapist helping people struggling with various disorders to live happier, healthier lives.
