Spanish musician Carlos Ucedda has been a prominent voice in electronic music for a few years now, having blessed us with a wide variety of singles and styles ever since 2022. The time has finally come for Carlos to properly release his FULL-LENGTH debut album, Mystique, and it is like a breath of fresh air through smoke clouds.

Only officially available on his Bandcamp page, all of its tracks were released as singles over the years since he started out, making Mystique a certain compilation of sorts – but it’s a fascinating journey from start to finish nonetheless. It’s a very interesting experience to have all of these songs laid out in this way, bringing forth a brand new perspective and highlighting just how versatile Carlos is as an artist.
Mystique is a wild ride, exploring a myriad of different sounds and production styles that range from the country-esque “Thinking About My Love” to the dreamy electropop of “Animal Sauna“. Going from dark pop atmospheres to club-filling bops, it is Carlos’s own voice and falsetto that truly makes these songs absolutely iconic. Touching on topics such as love, loss and self-reflection, Carlos creates an impressively cohesive narrative on Mystique. The diversity of production styles and ambiances present on this album is a jaw-dropping one, and the way the tracks segue into one another makes the already-known songs feel fresh by giving them a context to exist in.
Carlos Ucedda has been a powerful and unique voice in the European electronic music scene, and Mystique comes to solidify him as an artist unlike any other. His debut album serves to prove that there is still magic to be made, mysteries to be unveiled and sounds to try out. The sky is the limit from here, and it’s an absolute joy to know that he is not stopping any time soon.
