After 5 dynamic years dominating the Utah music scene, performing at Warped Tour in 2014, and sharing the stage with renowned bands like Cartel, Knuckle Puck, and Tiny Moving Parts, the Salt Lake City band had to embrace an indefinite hiatus.
“Our lead singer, Josh Paul, was diagnosed with brain cancer (oligodendroglioma) in 2018. Since then, Josh has undergone two surgeries to remove the tumor, but in June 2024, we were devastated to learn that the cancer had returned for a third time.” – The Last Gatsby

Backstory of the track:
“We originally wrote and recorded this song in 2015. At the time Josh, our lead singer was going through several things personally and wrote this song as a way to cope and to focus forward. It was a really collaborative effort from each member from a writing standpoint, but lyrically this was driven from a Josh’s personal story.
Earlier this year, after sitting on this song for so long, Josh said that given everything that had happened, we should release the song. The song wasn’t where we wanted it to be, so we decided to rerecord the song and have it remastered and release it once more. In June 2024, Josh’s cancer came back for a third time. This makes this release more important than ever.”
As fellow human beings, our hearts are with Josh, his family, and the band during this challenging time. We deeply admire Josh’s incredible strength, and we fervently wish him all the best in his fight against cancer once again.
