Today, singer-songwriter Aimee Lynne has revealed her newest song titled “Reason to Sing”. It’s her second single so far and the slow-paced indie pop tune tells a story of the artist herself, a story of becoming and what really keeps Aimee’s soul running and growing. A lifeforce embedded in a single.
A vibrant warm melody introduces what becomes an earnest introspection. A spoken word part comes first as a prologue, setting the mood for the story to follow. There was once a little girl forced to live according to strict rules imposed by religion, the church she was raised to be a part of. But once Covid ran over and she also began to live on her own, church was left in the past and she had a whole new task – to reshape the way of living and thinking while suffering from the feelings of betrayal and loneliness.
The song was born during the time Aimee attended university. As music is Aimee’s personal safe space, her struggles and troubled thoughts were poured into lyrics while giving voice to the little girl left without much consideration during her childhood years. In university, Aimee also met a producer-songwriter friend PJ LeBarge (releases music as Beatnik), who has been helping out with music production. On “Reason to Sing”, he added the real Wurlitzer electronic piano into the mix, making the result truly earnest and emotionally captivating.
For Aimee Lynne music is a safe haven and a life jacket, that keeps her afloat, when life gets too stormy. While “Reason to Sing” is only the second release so far. Aimee has been writing songs since childhood. Now, as a releasing singer-songwriter, Aimee wishes to share the safe place with listeners – a story of personal growth embedded in a soulful, cozy indie pop-rock sound.
