The Rotor Delta releases heartfelt indie song “Summer days are never the same”

The Rotor Delta article cover

The Rotor Delta will be starting February off on a loving note with the release of “Summer days are never the same”. It’s a single with gentle vocals and acoustic guitar joining hands just like the artist and his wife do as they walk through obstacles thrown in their way. Whatever happens, together they find a way through.

Built on the foundation of love and appreciation, soft melodies build up an atmosphere of warmth beyond what summer has to offer. It’s the warmth of a loving soul, who has found its way back from the shadows with the help of someone really dear. And thus, the song’s thoughtful storyteller vocals are full of sheer love for her and the fact he gets to walk this path with her.

“The song is about two things. Myself and my wife. One is, she has condition meaning, she cannot walk in sunlight without cover, she has lupus. The other is my own past battles with addiction, and its about us facing those together, walking under the moonlight, being there for each other and carrying each other when it all gets too much. Long as we have each other we are ok basically.

I recorded it on my own, in my little box room, on my instruments i have set up in there, and I edit and make the videos myself. Lincoln is the place I live in the UK, the line about staring in the glass is partially true, you get older e and you wonder where the time has gone? The song is a part meditation on growing together and pulling each other through tough times.

Well find a way, it will be ok.”

Even though harsh summer sun and the haunting demons of addiction don’t stay far behind, the single basks in the crystal-clear warmth offered by summertime darkness with its softly glowing moonlight. Most importantly, it’s about the warmth of love and support, without which life would be much duller and foggier.

The Rotor Delga "Summer days are never the same" artwork

The Rotor Delta hails from England, where the independent singer-songwriter records music in Blue Box Studio, his home. All instruments are played by the musician himself. Inspirations come from the greats of indie-folk-rock, such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young, and the stories, which The Rotor Delta puts into eloquent, poetic lyrics, come from life.

“I guess its my own romantic attachment to songwriting, melody, harmony. Sometimes I make stripped down songs, with emphasis on melody and story telling, which this song is really a folk/americana/indie song. I love old records, and I like how they make you feel, I like a song to make me want to hear it again, that I can sing a long to. I try and capture that with my songs sometimes, and people who love music and obsess over it are my kind of people, songs should make memories in my opinion.

I am not a strictly retro artist just at the moment a lot of my songs are pretty back to basics and arranged in a way that a lot of modern records probably are not anymore. I love all sorts of music, but this is where I find myself at the min and I am a big believer in serving the song and what it needs.”
