Earlier this year Mountain Climer started his walk along a new PATH AND released a brand-new single to accompany the journey. The single is “Paper Gowns”, an earnest poetic song looking into the last day of a living soul experiencing some of its very last moments.
Though the theme may seem grim, Mountain Climer does not want to cause concern. Instead, the initially slow ballad was given a higher tempo so as to not sulk on the end-of-life days, but to give attention to the fast-paced nature of life. For this soul, days have gone by really fast, and a life has been lived equally fast.
As the last days get spent in a hospital hooked up to machines, the mood is not sorrowful. A life of tyrannical independence had been spent, and it’s been eventful. So, even if there is nothing else ahead than inevitable death, the charm of an electric guitar solo makes the last days less dreadful. And when it comes to us listeners with (hopefully) no imminent demise, the song urges us to keep living. Days go by fast, get into doing the things you want to do!
Mountain Climer aka Jeremy Climer wrote the single together with producer Paul Mahern and a whole lineup of musicians, including Heidi Lynne Gluck, Shannon Hayden, Devon Ashley, and David England.
