Hailing from Illinois, USA, Rosetta West is an underground and independent band that incorporates a variety of influences into their Blues Rock core. Created by songwriter Joseph Demagore (vocals, guitars, keyboards), he teamed up with bassist Jason X. Both of them play percussion, but they are also joined by drummer Nathan Q. Scratch.
It doesn’t take much to realize that Rosetta West is pretty unique. Leaning towards the spiritual, the esoteric and the mystical, they craft thought-provoking music with amazing musicality. Thanks to this, Rosetta West are rapidly gaining followers all around the world.
“Snake 25” also includes the single “Oh Mary”, but we will focus on the first one.
The track opens up with an introspective atmosphere that lingers on for a while. Acoustic guitars and a sturdy bass set the mood for Demagore’s vocals which pop-out from the mix with a raw and emotional sound that truly makes an impact on the listener.
As the track moves on, it evolves into a heavy hitting instrumental of earth shaking drums, heavy riffs, and pulsating bass. The lyrics are filled with strange gnostic imagery, delivered by carefully harmonized vocals.

A true musical journey
Almost six minutes long, the track stands out with its originality and authenticity, creating a unique musical atmosphere that stands back from anything you’ve ever heard. You can really listen to the underground elements and influences that fuel, Rosetta West.
Second track, “Oh Mary”, is much shorter but no less interesting. It was written with acoustic guitars and simple percussive elements reminiscent of Folk music. It comes with a brighter energy and even sing-along melodies that greatly contrast against its predecessor.
This is undoubtedly the perfect way to conclude the release—both fascinating and entertaining!
