Transcending Into The Unknown deliver a 6 track masterpiece in “The Journey”. An 80’s Heavy Metal inspired track that features pristine musicality and a delightful blend of genres like Blues and emotional Prog Rock. Out Now!
Hailing from Norway, this amazing four-piece band composed of an 80’s rocker, a punk rocker, a neoclassical death metal rocker, an angel and a demon (that’s right), are debuting with this awesome collection of nostalgic tracks.
“The Journey” holds up its name by taking the listener into a fantastic listening experience, where fantasy and music come together. Inspired by heavy music of the past, this EP is a throwback to an era where dragons reign the skies.
The EP offers a wide arrange of compositions with a very unique mix of genres. Going from heavy guitar chords to soulful blues licks, to emotional and epic soundscapes, this EP has it all.

The angel and the demon refer to the singers, who heavily contrast with each other in an amazing fashion. The demon growls with anger and obscurity, while the angel softens it up and brings the light to the compositions.
It is truly a refreshing experience listening to it from start to end. Beginning with “Winternight”, it opens up with the vision of a barren land, conveying feelings of desperation and loneliness, ultimately finding a way through the darkness and a sense of hope.
“Giants” is an groovy and bluesy composition with heavy metal licks, harmonized and epic. TITU really took inspiration from their Viking metal heritage in this one and it is pretty damn cool.
“The Valley” is more slow paced, with sensible guitar melodies and acoustic chords with a medieval sound. The demon returns as he tries to find his way towards the sun and rainbow.
We previously reviewed Chronos, the EP’s fourth track. And it was a treat listening to it again. It’s soft and angelic intro quickly turns into a menacing and heavy instrumental with demonic vocals, and emotive choruses.

“Noir” is the bluesiest track of them all, reminding me of bands like Cream, Tom Petty, and even Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. Noir is a soothing track that speaks of home with a clever composition.
The band closes up the EP with their self-titled track “Transcending Into The Unknown”, and it couldn’t been a better way to end it. A majestic instrumental, similar to Pink Floyd tracks, that offer top-tier solos, and a sea of emotional sound waves.
A great finale for a great EP. Listen now!
