Dead Storm Rising is an innovative studio project that proudly centers its focus solely on music, which is why the members have chosen to perform under captivating alter egos rather than their real names. They embody unique characters: Wraith on Guitars/Bass/Drums, Kitsune handling Keys/Strings/Vocals, and Raze taking charge as the Lead Vocalist.
Approached by the prestigious French record label Bitume Prods, DSR confidently accepted the challenge to record a track for their highly anticipated “Dropped from the Sky: A Tribute to Mindfunk” compilation. The result is nothing short of breathtaking.

“11 Ton Butterfly” is a profoundly personal song for Wraith, the lead vocalist, as it reflects his experience of losing someone he cherished to suicide.
The cover boasts impeccably refined sections, delivering a powerful sound that embodies the essence of the Metal genre. Beginning with an impressive dark intro featuring only guitars, each additional element seamlessly enhances the composition, culminating in a truly explosive song.
Raze’s vocals evoke the powerful essence of James Hetfield, and the Alice In Chains-inspired melodies are impeccably crafted, forging a haunting atmosphere that aligns perfectly with the intense riffs and relentless drums.
It stands out as a notably lengthy song compared to other tracks in the genre, which is a refreshing change, especially considering that most contemporary music tends to be limited to 3 to 4 minutes. The duration of this cover is expertly crafted to deliver a complete musical experience that resonates with the listener long after it ends.
Sadly, Dead Storm Rising are not playing live any time soon, but you can very well expect more music coming from them.
