Norwegian indie pop duo Temperature Falls makes a return after a two-year break with oneiric new single “Wishes, Dreams”. On the first song from their forthcoming fourth album Temperature Falls finds themselves exploring a vast soundscape that merges their pop sensibilities with gorgeous alternative rock arrangements and psychedelic musings in great style.

There is a certain new wave and dream pop charm to “Wishes, Dreams”, illustrated by soaring vocals that slither their way through a strong and melodic chorus with flawless precision. Temperature Falls’ usual blend of influences that range from trip-hop to weird electropop à Björk feels pristine and comforting as the track unfolds into organic shapes and soothing atmospheres, making it the perfect setting for the yearning and frustration of its lyricism.
“This song is about feeling that angst towards your partner that your relationship is worth something more is worth fighting for!”, the band shares. Such emotions are built like layers on top of each other adding incredible depth and humanity to its crystalline production. “Wishes, Dreams” shows a very interesting maturity and evolution from what the band presented on Protagonist back in 2022, going deeper in both thematics and sounds with gentle subtlety and lighter undertones.
“Wishes, Dreams” feels slightly lighter and more ethereal than the dark ambience of their previous work. There is a breathiness to Camilla’s vocals that bring a wonderful sense of introspection to the track, making it sound like a clash between old and new references with impeccable sophistication.

Temperature Falls’ new track expresses a band that has perfected their sound and is now setting out to spread their wings and soar higher than before. “Wishes, Dreams” is a song well worth the wait, already a highlight from what will surely be one of the most impressive records of the year.
