London-based swede Skar de Line is back with a new single “Inside”. Following a recent song “Vignette“, which faced the endless opportunities and fears presented to an artist by a blank paper, the new song goes into sandy, dust-filled chambers NO ONE has ever been to before. This is “Inside”, a search for the inner foundation of oneself in the never-ending layers of the Pandora Box, aka yourself.

What lies at our core, what stands as the source of our true self? No-one really knows, but Skar de Line is bubbling with determination to find out exactly that. Like a true fearless explorer, the song sees him dive head-first into the multilayered secrets that lie within the dusty, dark corners, looking for that pillar of origin. But every time he gets close, a deeper layer gets revealed. Like a Pandora’s box, the search takes the explorer into deeper and more complex realms.
By no means is it a meditative song. Powered by swirling guitar melodies of Oriental feel and an enduring layer of electronica, the new single is a cinematic, powerful, and danger-filled anthem of an explorer in search of the true meaning of self. It’s almost self-destructive as the whirlwind sees bits of sanity fly away, but the endurance and passion for deeper knowledge keeps the explorer well on his way.
“Inside” joins the previous song “Vignette” as a tastemaker for Skar de Line’s upcoming album. The new song also continues the storyline started by “Vignette”, in which the artist ended up setting his blank self-portrait on fire. As a true DIY creative, Skar de Line wrote and filmed the accompanying music video all by himself in a rural location in Sweden, and the video for “Inside” is a thrilling short film of a searcher spiralling deeper into the layers of mystery in search for the true meaning of self.

Skar de Line makes introspection and self-discovery an exciting and fulfilling journey to get into, and even if the core remains untouched, there’s still plenty to learn about.
