Exzenya reveals the dangers of “Drunk Texting” with a debut single of the same name

It’s a well-known fact that alcohol and phones don’t mix. However, accidents still happen, and Exzenya’s new single is born from one of those instances. One morning after a wild night, it turned out alcohol gave maybe a bit too much courage to text a crush, and what could be muttered as an excuse? “My phone got drunk and texted you!”

Technology helps us a lot in many different ways, including making a fool of ourselves. “Drunk Texting” is one of those occasions, where the presence of technology combined with impaired cognitive thinking results in particularly awkward mornings. It’s funny in retrospect, but the morning in question is exceedingly awkward.

The line of excuse that came from that morning has been turned into the heart of the song iterated in a humorously spooky manner, turning the incident into a memorable fun song. The artist uses her vocal presence to paint vivid imagery of the phone seemingly overtaking control when alcohol is on the scene. From the spiralling emotions in texts that get sent to pondering how to avoid this in the future, “Drunk Texting” stands as a pretty fun warning song about the dangers of exactly doing that.

Exzenya hails from the US, where the independent singer-songwriter has just started off her music career with a DIY approach to everything. Vocals were recorded in a self-created vocal booth made from PVC piping and soundproof blankets, and late-night sessions were powered by resilience and a clear vision. Exzenya invites listeners into a world of fun and chaos, turned into catchy music filled with colorful lyricism and pop sensibility.
