Blunt Blade was born and raised in the Southeast of Minnesota, and he forged his bond with music early on—playing piano by age 7, guitar by 15, and bass and drums by 16. With a relentless appetite for sound, he explored every style of music available to him, and achieved going through college on vocal and guitar scholarships.

“It’s a song about valuing, and striving for, success at the cost of those around you who care about you. (Family, friends, co-workers.) The main bass hook of the song actually came to me in the shower. I needed to hum it in my head for the next 15 min unitl I could get to my recording equipment and lay down at least the main bassline hook. The lyrics and story weren’t planned. They were written after the majority of the music was put down. They developed from what I thought was the main feel to the song.” Blunt Blade

His music boldly blends electronic, indie, hard rock, and classical genres, infused with vibrant dance elements and a hint of disco. Coupled with his commanding baritone vocals, he crafts a sound that is both unique and original, drawing inspiration from an eclectic array of influences, including Frank Zappa, Radiohead, Miles Davis, Tame Impala, Talking Heads, Iron Maiden, Metric, Soundgarden, Tool, Phish, and Dream Theater.
