Hailing from Guildford, UK, Zachary Mason is a talented musician and writer who has recorded over 200 demos since the spring of 2021. Inspired by legendary artists as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and The Beatles, Mason explores a variety of instruments to craft uplifting music across diverse genres.
“5…4…3…2…1…” stands as the inaugural track of his latest EP, which bears the same title as the single. With this release, Zachary Mason delivers a gripping Sci-Fi tale where humans, after devastating the Earth, embark on a determined quest to discover a new home, but their journey takes unexpected turns.
The song is a soothing Rock track with a relaxed pace and vibrant elements of late 70’s Rock that bring to mind the iconic David Bowie and his legendary album Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars. With comedic and thought-provoking Sci-fi themes, Mason’s EP radiates a funky, psychedelic, and nostalgic sound that invites listeners to experience this artist’s creativity.
The message within Mason’s EP is powerful and unmistakable: We must prioritize Earth, or we will undoubtedly face dire consequences. Yet, the music exudes a relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with its cautionary lyrics. It’s a fascinating blend of impending catastrophe and enjoyment that radiates wisdom and a deep commitment to our mother Earth.
All the drums were expertly provided by Nate Barnes, a prominent member of the critically acclaimed rock band Rose Hill Drive, while the bass for tracks 1 and 2 was masterfully played by John Thomasson, a talented musician known for his work with Little Big Town.
