Aussie singer-songwriter Ali Lamb has just released her new song “Lemonade”, an indie-acoustic song about the sun, beach and a refreshing drink of lemonade. This feel-just-perfect song is designed to follow Ali’s ethos of “taking a sour day and turning it into something sweet”, as the vivid imagery of beach and relaxation come back to replace the routine, mundane and grey days with something far better.
Written during a trip to Europe, the song embodies a sense of freedom and leaving behind all the daily worries and routine duties. A switch has been flipped now, and the coming days are all for holidays, chilling and sipping one’s favourite beverage. A summer breeze runs throughout the song with a hint of salty seawater and effortlessly flying birds. Similar effortless feel is present in the single.
Ali Lamb’s serene voice takes little hints from her favourite source of inspiration, Taylor Swift, whose storyteller lyric writing has influenced her own descriptive, emotional lyrics. “Lemonade” is about the simple pleasures of life and going on vacation to a beautiful place with sunny skies, wonderful scenery, and sandy shores. There’s nothing quite like feeling the warm breeze that caresses you on those days of utter pleasure.
While the song was created to capture the feeling of living to the fullest during those wonderful vacation days with the beach becoming the second home, “Lemonade” also stands as a postcard remembering fun times had. Ali Lamb recorded the single with her dad in their home studio, with Ali doing the singing, songwriting and editing job, and dad helping with production and mastering the song.
Though born from Ali Lamb’s place of joy, “Lemonade” is universally relatable, heartfelt, and free-spirited, bringing that little sandy ecstasy into mundane days as a memory and as quiet anticipation.
