Intercontinen7al is an ambitious musical project initiated by american musician Matt Smith back in 2020. Centered around and stimulated by global collaboration, the project aims to connect musicians from all over the world and share each other’s expertises in a fluid and nurturing environment that spans several genres. Intercontinen7al is also the first musical act in history to record music across all seven continents, including Antarctica – that’s quite an impressive achievement. “Love Is Everywhere” is a song from their final album Volume 7, a classic rock number inspired by The Beatles, written by argentinian musician Nereo Paulus.
The song itself is an uplifting and hopeful peace that perfectly aligns with its influences, sounding reminiscent of anti-war hymns of the 60s but with beautiful latin references in its production. Like a palate cleanser, it’s a short and sweet song driven by comforting melodies and rich textures that soar over very grounded and organic instrumentation, placing it amongst the band’s finest tracks. It’s the first single from their upcoming final record, also marking the band’s first release since the World Over EP in late 2024, showing them gearing up for a final hurrah and going out in style.
Volume 7 promises to be an album filled with intriguing textures and sharp turns, incorporating elements that range from jazz to hard rock without losing sight of the humanity behind the music. That is Intercontinen7al’s motto: taking advantage of technology in order to create something true and unique, playing to the strengths of everyone involved. “Love Is Everywhere” stands as a lovely preview of what’s to come, accompanied by a beautifully shot music video that shows the stunning remote locations in which the musicians are coming from.
A very fitting goodbye to a highly ambitious project, “Love Is Everywhere” feels like the culmination of everything they set out to do at once. A track that overflows with positive joy and inviting melodies, highlighting that what truly matters is the tangible connections made along the way even if from far away. Intercontinen7al have announced the conclusion of its run in order to allow for its members to pursue other activities, ending on a selfless and loving note that is heartwarming and swoons you like a loving lullaby.
