Taking on influences from Avicii’s innovative EDM to Zara Larsson’s sugary brand of synthpop, Swedish producer and artist FREDRYD is back with new single “Let the Girl Have Her Fun”. His new track stands as an updated version of Cyndi Lauper’s colossal “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, which it samples, at the same time that pushes the boundaries of dance pop and EDM to interesting levels.
“Let The Girl Have Her Fun” immediately impresses with its soft, dreamlike atmosphere and whispery vocals. It has such an intriguing texture of swelling synths and gentle waves making it an eccentric build with fascinating pacing. FREDRYD does a great job in creating a unique style for himself, as previously explored on singles like “Know You Better” and “I See You Shining”, offering a refreshing take on EDM that feels intimate and inviting.
