After releasing a stunning album that perfectly merged modern technology with the timelessness of human emotions last year, SonicNeuron strikes back with an exciting new endeavor. sonicneuron partnered with creator Chelby Stanford to compose Confissões de Lívia (“Lívia’s Confessions”), the soundtrack for a new brazilian series of the same name.
It’s a new style for SonicNeuron that relies on romanticism and organic textures, weaving passion and love in a bilingual album sung in both English and Portuguese. The tracks serve as an invitation to a brand-new universe of storytelling in which narrative and music unite forces to form a single entity, without ever leaving the heart behind.
Confissões de Lívia sounds like a revival of late-90s Brazilian pop at its finest, channelling the dynamics of iconic duos like Sandy & Júnior (“Meu Mundo É Você” (“My World Is You”)) with ease. Across the record, SonicNeuron dives fully into a myriad of Brazilian and Latin genres, touching on sertanejo on songs like “Meu Diário Sabe” (“My Diary Knows”) as well as Anitta-inspired funk pop of “Ninguém Vai Parar” (“Nobody’s Gonna Stop”).

It’s a sharp production that unfolds with incredible energy and commitment. This well-crafted gem reveals deep knowledge of Brazilian music and how it fits into our daily lives and stories.
It’s a story of romance, intimacy and bravery that feels refreshingly vulnerable and fills up the space with a nice sense of nostalgia for those who lived it. The record is filled with charm and personality, perfectly translating sentiments of longing as shaped by the raw fragility of sincerity. SonicNeuron and Chelby crafted a unique kind of universe in these tracks, one that feels both personal and shared at once through bravery, quiet confidence, and an abundance of romance.
