UK-based duo Shapes Like People have a new single ready for release. This song, named “Lately”, takes listeners to those days when everything seems to be going just a little wrong. But instead of letting the mishaps get into one’s head, the single tells “It’s a bad day, not a bad life” and brushes away the murky clouds with its cheerful indie rock melodies.

On a day when caffeine seems to have lost its effect and everything seems to get on one’s nerves, soft, spacious melodies are needed the most. “Lately” starts off just like that, with gentle guitar chords that stay out of the way, but provide a great musical company. And as it continues to play, the troubles suddenly seem to become translucent and lose their weight.
As the chorus hits, uplifting melodies make one forget about the mundane troubles that made the day so dull before. Love and understanding are the spells to get through those bad days, and in the end… Was that day really that bad, when the person you love is just one step away?
“Lately” is the fourth single to be released from Shapes Like People’s upcoming full-length album, “Under The Rainbow”, which is set to be released worldwide in April this year. For the Wiltshire-based husband-and-wife duo, this single has become their favourite due to its message of love, the antidote to all bad moods.
“The lovely thing about this track is that many will find something relatable within the lyrics. I love the opening lines… ‘Caffeine kicks in too slow’ – story of our lives! Some days can be a slog, but it’ll always be alright – especially if you’re fortunate enough to have found someone to spend both the good days and the tough ones with.”
