Nashville-based singer-songwriter Ellen Marconi has just released her first single this year, a love-themed country song “Love ME Better”. Born from a set of complicated feelings that arise, when the love from one’s parents or romantic partner isn’t quite what is needed, the song takes the listener’s hand and walks along the blue-tinted path of love, a verb consisting of so many things.
It is often said that one has to love oneself before they can love someone else, for if you love yourself, you would also know what you need. “Love Me Better” finds itself echoing that sentiment, as the lyrics sung by Ellen’s wise and tonally rich voice carefully dissect how ill-fitting love can blind you from seeing your own needs.
Created in the sweet sound of classic 60’s country, “Love Me Better” embraces those currently troubled with confusing feelings. Through soft melodies and a voice that suggests deep insight on the matters of life, the song brushes away the confusion and says that sometimes, the love provided is not the right kind for you, and it’s not your fault.

The song came to fruition with Ellen Marconi’s friend and fellow artist Sarah Peacock, who helped a great deal with the making of the tune – from production to playing acoustic guitar and adding backing vocals. A classic vintage sound was achieved in a variety of ways, including renting an iconic RCA 44 ribbon microphone, which adds that warm luster to vocals.
Ellen Marconi loves music, has been since childhood. She’s always written poetry, which now lends itself into song lyrics and is the reason, why this new single feels so nourishing for an aching soul. Songs with meaning are Ellen’s favourite kind, and as an artist with plenty of life experience, she has loads of thoughts in mind, thus lots to write into music. If you’re in Nashville, you may be in good luck to catch her perform live!
