This song is for all those of us, who have been in a any type of relationship with someone narcissistic. Whether it’s a family member or a romantic partner, they both leave us in the dark. “Leave Me In The Dark”, however, brings us back out into the light.

For those of us fortunate enough to not have experienced life with a narcissist – people with narcissism are self-centered and often severely lacking of empathy. They don’t take responsibility, but will always love being praised. They are not the sort of people to rely on, but if you’re unlucky enough to be charmed by one…
“Leave Me In The Dark” is an emotional story of a person longing to break free from such a relationship. There’s immediacy written all over that fast-paced percussion and the airy, chilled sonic atmosphere. Serene female vocals speak of pain and exhaustion with clarity as she looks at the now constantly absent person in her life. She’s still on the hook, experiencing intense and compulsive passion and need for the person. It’s suffocating from the inside.
The speedy drums and vibrant, catchy melodies visualize life free from that person, spending the night dancing with joy. It’s what the song’s character longs for the most, but to get there, she needs to break free from this golden chain of obsession. There’s already a kid in the mix, which is only making it more difficult. But it’s not impossible and that’s what should always be remembered!
