RenDaPan, Spain-based composer and handpan player, has just released a new original composition “Iluminacion”. As suggested by the Spanish title meaning “enlightenment” among other light-based translations, the song brings about a flood of calmness, as handpan melodies unravel in the middle of soothing nature. There’s no place for troubling thoughts here.
The handpan, RenDaPan’s primary instrument that the artist creates compositions for, is tightly tied with the world of healing and meditation. Harmonising by nature, the melodies of “Iluminacion” flow in perfect balance, inviting listeners’ minds to calm down and embrace inner peace. In fact, it works so well that writing this article is quite difficult when all you want to do is sit back and enjoy the resonance of those melodies.
While the main part itself, the instrument and melodies created by it are surrounded by serene sunny nature. The composition was recorded in a valley close to the artist’s home, and to keep it truly raw and real, there is no post-processing done on the recording. This means that the song heard on a randomly chosen streaming service feels the same as if one was there sitting next to the artist, listening him play.
The organic unaltered atmosphere formed by handpan and surrounding nature is RenDaPan’s signature sound, offering an escape into authentic soft calmness. While the recordings sound wonderful wherever you are, RenDaPan is also performing live. This summer, the artist will be performing at festivals as well as doing his own sunset sessions on the beach of Manilva.
