Toronto-born, Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Sean Tweedley who makes an incredibly fulfilling indie rock stacked with DIY sensibilities. His latest single “Ooola Hooora” arrives just about two months after “Hazy Daze” and highlights his versatility and artistic vision, recorded and produced independently and entirely by Sean himself. There is a certain humour and groove to the track that makes it alluring, and cleverly hides the stark themes the artist explores on the lyrics.
“Ooola Hooora” is a self-reflective navigation of our own inner dualities, unfolding as a song about the innate human ability of being both aggressively animalistic as well as tender-hearted and gentle. It’s a wild ride of a track once you realise that, as the production unveils itself as a catchy and melody-driven lo-fi indie rock that glistens with power pop influences. The single stretches over its themes as if trying to hide how deep it actually goes with charming vocalizations and a funny title.
