hands, wondering why we can’t all just get along.

Led by former Royal Australian Navy sailor Jason Mckee, ReeToxA emerged from the intense and relentless fire of a six-month creative marathon during Melbourne’s merciless COVID-19 lockdowns. This was no ordinary sprint; it sends Mckee into a hospital bed for six weeks, after sustaining himself solely by coffee, cigarettes, and the fleeting comfort of a ham and cheese croissant for days.

War Killer, almost didn’t make it into ReeToxA’s debut album ‘Soliloquy’, an ambitious self-funded independent release featuring an impressive 26 tracks. Picked from a staggering selection of 1800 songs, War Killer stood out thanks to its astonishing origins:

As he took a rare break from his relentless grind of writing, Mckee switched on the TV, only to witness an extraordinary spectacle: Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un strolling together in an unexpected embrace of peace.

This vision shattered every belief Mckee had held during his military service—that North Korea was an “unstoppable force.” The sheer awe and wonder of witnessing Trump wield the power to halt war with just a phone call left Mckee not only appalled but profoundly inspired.

Recorded at The Avenue Studio in Cheltenham, War Killer carries the raw energy of a quintessential pub-rock anthem. You can almost taste the blend of stale beer and sweat in the air. The magic came alive in an instant. After a “beer and tequila break,” the band rolled the tape, and on that very first take, the sound hit so powerfully that producer Simon Moro and Mckee locked eyes, both realizing they had unearthed something extraordinary—and undeniably controversial.
