New York-based quintet Future Mondays is back with “Faithlessly”, their first new release since the self-titled debut EP in 2023. Taking inspiration from the fast-paced punk attitude of the Ramones just as much as from the new wave synths of early Killers, Future Mondays deliver an explosive burst of infeccious energy on the new track. “Faithlessly” borrows heavily from 2000s pop punk in its dynamics, a new style for the band that fits them like a glove.

A real whirlwind inspired the single, offering one hook after another with barely any time to breathe. Ringing with caffeinated melodies and an unrelenting sense of good nostalgia, “Faithlessly” shows a band that is more than ready to take its rightful place in the alternative rock scene. The song also marks the first time the band recorded without the aid of a click track, allowing it to take an organic shape more akin to the band’s live performances – and that decision really paid off.
“Faithlessly” is a breath of fresh air, combining unwavering punk energy with the intricacies of the band’s previous new wave inclinations. It’s a fiery track that shines brighter than anything they’ve released this far while also delivering impeccable one liners like ‘we’ll start a coup d’état with medicinal bordeaux‘. It’s just so fun from start to finish, highlighting how much the band has grown since their debut EP a few years back.
Future Mondays are set to bring their career to new heights as they navigate the wonders of youthful love and lust. “Faithlessly” stands as a fresh start for the American band, even though it’s a track that was written years ago and has been part of their live show since their inception. Co-produced alongside Grammy-nominated musician Tom Gardner, “Faithlessly” is an exciting new page for the band and I cannot wait to hear what else they’ve been cooking up for the second semester!
