Nelida Oyma, electronic music producer and instrumentalist hailing from France, has just released his newest piece of work, a single titled “Silent Haze”. In this chilled and slowly progressing track, Oyma has captured the fleeting moments of early mornings high in the mountains, the hypnotic scene of fog rising up to reveal the landscape for another new day.

Echoing and subtle sounds of synths open up to a scenery of dense fog and crisp air full of anticipation and constant quiet movement. An undercurrent of electric low bass notes is met by shimmering guitar notes, speaking bits of excitement. This silent haze is full of movement as light flickers through in the form of high synth notes and plucked strings.

Passing brushes of moving air, dense humidity of fog and movement that’s only obvious when you stand still yourself, all that has been translated into melodies and sounds with soundtracking skills. “Silent Haze” brings that cold foggy early morning into the listener’s room, injecting subtle yet undeniable excitement through music and inspiring the listener to pay more attention to the minute detail, not only in music, but also in nature.

Silent Haze started from an image rather than a melody. I wanted to capture the feeling of standing above a sea of fog, where everything seems to move slowly and naturally. The track grew around that idea of constant movement without urgency. The guitars and electronic textures were built layer by layer, with the goal of creating a balance between organic sounds and electronic elements. Rather than focusing on dramatic changes, I wanted the music to evolve gradually and let the listener discover small details over time.

“Silent Haze” is the freshest result of Nelida Oyma’s exploratory instrumental electronic works on expressing fleeting moments met in the depths of nature at hours most spend deeply asleep. Pulling inspiration from those magical moments as well as artists like Tycho, Kiasmos and Rival Consoles, Oyma brings the natural enchanting atmosphere and movement into people’s speakers and headphones.

My music is usually built around groove, evolving textures and simple melodic motifs. The goal is not just to create a mood, but to create music that feels alive and constantly moving.
