The Muster Point Project is back with yet another fantastic single titled, “That’s How They Getcha”. Using his years of experience working in advertisement, Kevin Franco tells a playful but cautionary tell about the true nature of advertising promises.

Kevin Franco is back again short after the release of his previous single “Goodbye America”. Which if you missed, you better rush to hear it now. The Canadian artist once again joined forces with the brilliant novelist Geoff Moore, and yet again, the result is as wonderful as any of their past releases.
“That’s How They Getcha” brilliantly exposes the smoke and mirrors of the advertising world. Promises that appear far too enchanting often leave us disillusioned, yet we find ourselves stumbling over the same illusion time and time again. Such is the intoxicating “magic” of selling and buying.
No stranger to how this works, Franco perfectly created a song that’s playful, catchy, and constantly questions what’s behind the message. With a funky bassline and an instrumentation that emulates the off-beat energy, dance-floor swagger, and tongue-in-cheek wit of the B-52’s, “That’s How They Getcha” stands strong as a charismatic and educational song.
Using a delightful mix of honesty and tongue-in-cheek humor, Franco and Geoff hilariously poke fun at the education system, the utterly baffling policies of companies, and those laughable fine print clauses in insurance policies. It’s all just a grand game of smoke and mirrors—until, of course, reality decides to throw a surprise party that crashes right into your living room!
Ultimately, “That’s How They Getcha” is Franco’s way of telling you to look out for your wallet, and to suspect everything that’s being promoted. We’ve all fallen into the sharp claws of consumerism; may this track serve as a reminder to keep our wallets inside our pants!
