Aux Volta, a duo seemingly from an unknown astral plane, have just finished working on their newest song. It’s titled “Generic Gazelle”, and is an intense, long-form auditory exploration into the ashen land covered with what was left from the shards of hyper speed rock in “Ouroborus”, the previous single.

The deep, Burial-like atmosphere with a dense, oddly colored fog covering most of the landscape is home to the Generic Gazelle, the only creature that can be seen in this unsettling place. The other option, it being the only creature around, is too troubling to think about. While observing the animal, the fog in the form of that alluring deep bassline, uncovers its invisible power to get in your head and that’s when things get particularly interesting. In a mind-bending sort of way.
Shards of rhythms explode from the ground. The Gazelle is now on the run, and wild, twisting shapes form. What one sees (unsettling sights) and feels (delirium) are now in conflict – the absolute thrill reaches high skies as the rhythmic shapes dance around.
Underneath it all, the intoxicating bassline has grown another layer and one can’t help but imagine its complacent undertone. The dystopian, burnt to all hell landscape has turned out to be the most thrilling experience, and it’s most certain you’ll be in it for more.
Aux Volta are a genre-fluid duo born in London and now living in Asia. Decidedly, they keep their faces unknown and let the fearless, unconforming music do the talking. Once you listen, you’ll realise there’s so much more to this reality than meets the eye.
