This amazing Aussie artist is back and this time he presents his most vulnerable side yet. Once again recruiting the unfathomable talents of Peter Marin (Jet) on drums, Kit Riley (Robbie Williams) on bass, and James Ryan (Men at Work) on guitar, this new single also features backing vocals from Jess McPherson- Riley of The Voice Australia, alongside beautiful orchestral arrangements performed by the Budapest Orchestra.
“Gown” swept us off our feet the instant the orchestra hit. The entire composition is a breathtaking journey, brimming with beautiful dynamics and a crisp analog sound. You may find yourself soaring as the chorus envelops you. It’s mellow and deeply nostalgic, evoking a sensation of weightlessness, like discovering that perfect oasis to recline among the flowers on a sun-drenched day.
Inspired by a crazy dream, the single emerges as the emotional heart of Reetoxa’s album “Soliloquy”. In this dream, a mesmerizing lady dressed in a shimmering gold gown entered the room, carrying two glasses of rich red wine, and with an alluring smile, offered one to Jason. Hesitantly, Jason succumbed to her insistence.
She then grasped Jason’s hand, and together they soared through the balcony window, over the shimmering Melbourne skyline, before plunging into the inviting, warm embrace of Port Phillip Bay’s waters, a comforting oasis on such a winter’s day.
At first they danced and enjoyed the wine but the lady suddenly flipped to evil and pinned Jason against the rocks turning into a vicious siren. Jason did not fight he just peacefully floated against the hard rock, feeling peace.
This infuriated the lady who shot him out of the water, flying him against the Melbourne night sky back to the apartment. There was string around Jasons feet and it was pulling him back home. Jason awoke to a mighty slap across his face, his wife begging him to wake up.
