Seema Farswani, an Indian-American singer-songwriter, has just released her newest piece, a single titled “Born to Fly”. Originally written for the artist’s own daughters, the song has expanded to reach out to all women of any age to spread hope and courage into their lives. The world can still act very limiting, but with perseverance and a belief in yourself, anything is possible. Seema believes in all of you.
The single of courage is wrapped into anthemic indie rock form, where the western pop sensibilities meet the sitar melodies and charm from Indian music scene. It starts off with airy softness inspiring intimate warmth a mother has for her children. In here, words of courage enriched with hope and faith are planted into the hearts seeking for support. Seema’s voice carries endless amounts of tenderness and love, driving that message further into the world on the wings of empowerment.
At first it was intended for the little audience of her daughters, but once Seema Farswani performed the song at a charity event The Voices Unseen made for visually impaired children and the empowerment of women, she realized the song has a strong meaning for all of those people too. The soaring anthem for daughters of courage has a power to resonate in the hearts of everyone, who needs the uplifting message to keep going.
When making the song, Seema introduced several brilliant artists to join the creation. For instance the twirling sitar textures were provided by Ananya Wadkar, and Shania Tan’s neoclassical vocals heightened the song’s celestial feel. Seema did co-production with guitarist and producer Rishabh Sharma, whose insights helped shape the song into its fully potent form. Mastering honors were given to Brandon Leo.
Seena Farswani is bright force in the rising artists scene. Influenced by her multicultural upbringing, Seena makes music that effortlessly moves across genres while carrying the unique essence of her soul. The artist is also an interior designer, her background in fine arts and spatial design lends itself to skillful songwriting. In an era where honesty and empowerment are needed more than ever, Seena’s music brings that and much more to the searching souls out there.
