English power trio KaiserKillers just released a new mix of their 2021 single “5000 Miles Away from You”, a highlight of their short but impressive discography so far. On the track the band tells the compelling story of an epic road trip across the United States while on tour, backed by energetic pop punk influences and a delightful powerpop structure.

“5000 Miles (26 Mix)” offers remarkable hooks and addictive melodies that swirl around each other with chaotic precision, making the song a dynamic and unpredictable listen well worth your time. KaiserKillers does a great job in portraying the excitement found in touring, while also finding time to miss their home country with surprisingly touching lyrics.
The latest mix of the track sounds richer and much more polished, but still retaining the lo-fi charm and punk attitude that made the original mix stand out. The band takes inspiration from early Buzzcocks, Blondie and Pixies, sharpening their sound and creating a timeless pop punk classic of their own. “5000 Miles (26 Mix)” is as electrifying as a bolt of lightning, like a band that can finally reach their full potential.
The track is the latest to get this treatment, following the new mixes heard of “Saints Preserve Us” and “Love Conquers All” from last year, elevating everything that was already impressive to much higher standards. The band proves once and for all that they’re able to construct addictive melodies with easygoing pacing, at the same time that there’s real emotional weight to its lyrics in a bittersweet balance between fun and sorrow. KaiserKillers are fully aware that their earlier songs were good enough to warrant a revisit, and they aren’t afraid to do it.
