Hailing from Norway, artist Ronde Fauchald’s solo project RXND returns with a brand new track titled “A NEW WORLD: The Setting Sun”, the first song since 2023’s “Battle Scars: A Beautiful Lie“. The track is a reflective piece on the fragile relationship between humanity and nature, exploring a society on the verge of total collapse and mindless war. And its most impressive part is how hopeful the track sounds, in spite of its initial premise.
On his latest single RXND merges the urgency of emo and the atmosphere of contemporary alternative rock with cinematic scales and epic proportions. “A NEW WORLD” easily stands as his most polished and focused song to date, driven by a solid punk attitude and genuine concern for the world that surrounds us. The track does a remarkable job in giving the power back to nature itself, arranging the four core elements (air, water, fire and earth) as true masters of our system.
“A NEW WORLD: The Setting Sun” is also accompanied by a fully-produced music video that illustrates its main message: we’re the ones corrupting and distorting the world. Shot during the harsh Norwegian winter, the video shows Ronde performing completely isolated, intertwined with takes of nature’s power: from the eruption of a volcano the simple flight of a bird. It’s a very interesting way to raise questions about our species’s influence in the universe, and how badly we’ve already damaged our own planet.
RXND’s bold new song is one that manages to reclaim and recontextualize a fairly ancient idea that not even once stopped being true: nature is unrelenting and it is the one force that rules us all. “A NEW WORLD: The Setting Sun” is an excellent return for the artist and highlights very well that the advancements in his artistic prowess, professional growth and improved technical skills only serve to heighten his unwavering sense of human sensibility and humility.
