Dub is alive and strong, Jah Jah Bless is here to take control. Collective of legendary musicians 3HEAD, have returned from their hiatus to deliver a big, fat, resonating dub experience sure to make Babylon tremble. Dub is the way, Jah bless.
3HEAD, a collective of quality and recognised musicians comprised by Al Macaulay (Tindersticks); Calina de la Mare (session violinist and arranger); Ras B (The Bug & On U Sound); Spider Johnson (Lee “Scratch” Perry); and Dave Woolfson (Virginaires), have released their first three track single in 2021, Jah Jah Bless, including a hip-hop remix by the hand of Brixton’s producer “Mo Money” and a Toasting version from Spider Johnson.

A reggae dub-based track filled with echoing guitars, soulful vocals, and heavy breakbeats, Jah Jah Bless takes the listener to a 4:20 minute-long astral experience where matter and spirit conjoint in a single chant of love and resistance. Babylon, your time is due.
Mo Money’s remix is a trip-hop style re-imagination with a downtempo vibe and colorful, reverberating vocals on the back. Chill out and feel the groove.
Jah Jah Toast is Spider Johnson’s energy filled toasting version, turning it up a notch. Protest, resistance and self-power make themselves noted throughout the way.
Back in the day, Al Macauly was a founding member (and the drummer) of the seminal indie band: The Tindersticks, a band who gained world-wide recognition, sales and global tours. Duncan Forbes, a legendary part of the EDM dance music band, Spooky, pretty much helped to invent “Progressive house music” in the early 90s, and toured with the likes of Orbital, Leftfield and Aphex Twin. He also used to DJ with Andrew Wetherall at Turnmills (in London).
After successfully touring in Japan with the likes of Andrew Wetherall, Dennis Bovell and Adrian Sherwood (On U Sound), 3HEAD took a “timeout” to raise families. Fast forward to 2020, the collective reunited and came up with what will be their 3rd, 10 track album: 3HEAD3, with Jah Jah Bless as its first single. A much needed reincarnation.
This single has 2 immediate follow ups. The first being a re-release (only available for the first time on digital platforms) on 30th April of “Bombs over London (Adrian Sherwood Remix)” and
the second being “Afanaz” (another 3 track EP) to be released on 7th MAY.
“Afanaz boasts a vocal and dub (instrumental) mix by the legend that is Dennis Bovell (famous for his work with Linton Kwesi Johnson as well as more recently being the sound behind “Oscar winner” Steve McQueen’s recent hit series: “Small Axe”.“
Radio support is already being delivered from the likes of Denis Bovell’s dub show, Dub Front in
Brussels, and James Endeacott’s “Morning Glory” show on Soho Radio, to name just a few.
