This debut album is one for the history books. Hellocentral’s self-titled album is a masterful 13 powerful and emotive songs for all you emo punk-rock lovers out there. Delight your ears and feel yourself again with “hellocentral“.

Well, hello everyone! Welcome back to this humble blog where we try to keep it as real as we can, with brand new singles and artists for you to discover. Today, we have a very special treat for all you Blink-182, Brand New and Yellowcard fans. A total trip to nostalgia. I kid you not, this album made me feel young again, throwing me back to my high-school era.

Hellocentral is an emo-rock, pop-punk band from Denver born in 2018. Since then, they’ve independently released 1 album, 2 EPs and 4 Singles, while also playing live shows frequently. The culmination of a life-long friendship between four friends who grew up listening to pop-punk, alt-rock and emo-music, hellocentral is an ambitious take that gives a modern sound to nostalgia.

“We all grew up listening to pop-punk, alt-rock, and emo music so this album is a culmination of all of those genres into our own take that fits in the modern day scene. Expect a hit of nostalgia with a refreshing modern sound, and a wide sonic variety of tracks.”

13-track long, this debut EP is musically and sonically flawless. The mastery in both composition and mixing is just outstanding and hard to believe. While there are a lot of song for me to cover in this review, I’ll talk about some of my favorites.

Track 1, “aloha“, quickly presents the gigantic sound of the album. The raspiness of the guitars, the punch of the drums and the anthemic choruses. One hell of a start.

Then we have “monster” a fast-paced track with a heavy bass that will turn up your emotions to the max.

One song that I liked a lot because of its guitar riff and electronic beat is “…if you want to“, with sadness and nostalgia all the way up, this guitar based song is a trip to high-school fever.

when i fall” is also very anthemic, huge sounding and with lots and lots of energy. “don’t feel a thing” returns with the nostalgic vibes and electronic beat, another trip round high-school heart breaks and lonely, wondering nights.

Probably my favorite track was “starry nights & hand grenade“, a song with very emotional lyrics and smooth vibe. Bursts and bursts of nostalgia swarm this track with vibrating guitar licks and driving bass.

All of this and more inside hellocentral’s debut album. I assure you, you don’t wanna miss it!!

We truly believe there's something for everyone on this record, from slow, heartfelt interludes to hard hitting darker alt-rock to electronic beats, we did our best to take our wide range of influences and provide something new that still retains the elements of music that we all grew up listening to and still love
