TOUGH ON FRIDAYS – “LUSH (REIMAGINED)”

An explosive Rock anthem reborn. Tough On Fridays are presenting a re-imagination of their 2017 single “Lush“. Powerful, vibrant, and melodic, this brand new track is a reminder that songs, just as bands, can evolve in time.

Not many bands decide to take a previously released track and make another version of it. Much less two. “Lush“, released in 2017, was initially presented in a completely different form, followed by an acoustic version later released in 2019. Now, the American band comprised by Caleigh (guitar/vocals) and Carly (bass/vocals), along with studio/touring drummer Chris Schreck, is yet again presenting a completely new version of their 2017 hit.

“This was one of our first original releases and one of our favourites. The song just didn’t go along
with the band’s current direction so we changed it up a bit. Hope y’all like what you hear.”
– TOF

This version is a soaring and stunning release, with striking drumming and wild guitar playing that absorb us in a huge wall of sound. Carly’s vocals are profound, rich, and high-reaching, performing with a powerful delivery that will amaze every fan.

Originally produced by Tim Palmer (Tears For Fears, U2, Pearl Jam, David Bowie), the song was very popular when released in 2017, but over time and with changes in personnel, the song grew. This version represents more accurately the tremendous amount of talent in the band.

‘Lush (Reimagined)’ is a reminder that songs are merely snapshots of where a band is on any given day, that you shouldn’t draw a line under them and consider them having found their final form and that the best songs are those that evolve along with the band itself. – TOF

2022 has been a good year for Tough On Fridays, as they were named an Official SXSW Showcase Artist and are set to open for alt rockers Everclear in North Carolina in August. In November the band will release its second full length album, “The Encore You Didn’t Ask For”, the follow up to the critically acclaimed “A Fantastic Way To Kill Some Time“.

Lush (Reimagined)” was recorded at Studios At Fischer, Canyon Lake, Texas. It was engineered by Dan Flynn, mastered by Justin Perkins at Mystery Room Mastering, Milwaukee and produced by Dan Flynn, Eric Nielsen & Caleigh Oceguera.
