“BAMBINA”

Arianna Brizzi was one of those with a particularly problematic childhood with much of it spent going from therapist to therapist as she struggled to find her identity and appreciate herself. Born in Italy to loving and strict parents, she couldn’t see her future in working the same way her parents did, instead, she longed to sing her heart out. Fortunately, that dream of hers became reality despite all, and now, hailing from London, Arianna Brizzi takes a look back to her childhood in her new single “Bambina”.

Sung in her mother tongue, Italian, “Bambina” (English lyrics at the end of this article) is a dead honest yet strikingly warm window into the world of a young girl longing to be free as she struggles to find the strength to stand up against all troubles. It’s a beautiful power ballad full of love for the past self.

It’s the perfect song for those who have gone through all that, but particularly for those vulnerable listeners out there, who struggle to see the strength and good in themselves and the hope in their future. The message is clear – life can be really hard sometimes and it’s especially difficult when it starts off that way, but things will work out if you find faith in yourself and keep going.

ENGLISH LYRICS

Bambina (v.o Mama’s little girl)

Raise in a world so bittersweet
Till seventeen kept on the leash
Never really allow to be free
Never really know how to breath

But time is passing by
And I can’t get out of this life
Cuz it’s hard to realized
What’s right in front of my eyes

I am not mama’s little girl anymore
trying to stand on my feet on my own
If I look in the mirror I’ll see
The brave woman I am going to be

My head always full of doubts
Always teased by the people around
It was hard shining in that crowd
Cuz all they wanted was to bury you down

But time is passing by
And I can’t get out of this life
Cuz it’s hard to realized
What’s right in front of my eyes

I am not mama’s little girl anymore
trying to stand on my feet on my own
If I look in the mirror I’ll see
The brave woman I am going to be

Time has already gone
My life needs to go own
I don’t care If I am on my own
I don’t blame anymore

I am not mama’s little girl anymore
trying to stand on my feet on my own
If I look in the mirror I’ll see
The brave woman I am going to be

I am just Mama’s little girl, that’s all
I can stand on my feet on my own
If I look in the mirror I’ll see
The brave woman growing and free
