“I wrote the majority of these songs in the second half of 2020 after my first album came out, and I’ve spent the last couple years working on them.”
This DIY album, where Nuss wrote and performed everything, showcases his exceptional musicianship and songwriting, with a wide array of influences and genre-bending elements that create a captivating listening experience.
Featuring 11 mesmerizing tracks, “Bull in a China Shop” effortlessly blends garage rock, lo-fi, and classic rock, resulting in a unique and refreshing sound that is reminiscent of bands like The Stokes, The Black Keys, Tame Impala, Interpol, The Shins, The White Stripes, Kasabian, and Arctic Monkeys.
“I basically had the album done in November of 2021, but then I moved to Austin in January 2022, so it kinda got put on hold until I could get settled and now here we are.”
The album strikes a perfect balance between energetic anthems and soft rock ballads, with catchy melodies and anthemic songs that will have listeners hooked from the start.
One of the standout tracks on the album is “Foolish Games,” which emanates a retro rock vibe and delves into the complexities of material games and courtship. The song’s infectious guitar riffs and Nuss’s powerful vocals create a nostalgic yet contemporary sound that will have you tapping your feet along with the rhythm.

“Lost” is another highlight, with its seamless blend of acoustic and gritty guitar sound, creating a rich and dynamic atmosphere that draws you in.
“Fly Away” is a memorable and dreamy soft rock number that showcases Nuss’s versatility as a songwriter and performer. The song’s captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics take listeners on a journey of introspection and reflection.
The signature track “Get You Off My Mind” is a true gem, with its steady beat, groovy bass line, and incorporation of modern indie rock elements. It’s a track that will have you nodding your head along with the rhythm and singing along to the infectious chorus.
The album also features several new unreleased songs, including the concluding track “Along With Me,” an acoustic ballad that showcases Nuss’s raw emotions and vulnerability. Nuss’s sunburst Les Paul guitar tone throughout the album is simply exceptional, adding depth and richness to the overall sound.
In conclusion, “Bull in a China Shop” by Atomic Bronco is a genre-bending indie rock masterpiece that highlights Nuss’s exceptional talent as a musician and songwriter.
