What’s going on ladies and gentlemen, welcome back! It’s your boy MadZen and today we have an amazing track that takes us down memory lane. Nights In White Satin was huge back in the day, and with this beautiful cover I’m sure that it will recover some of its glory.
Tillerman is a band from Leeds created by long-time friends Jon Kulczycki, Tom Kulczycki, Shaun Mallia, and Iain Moyser. They find great inspiration in bands like The Moody Blues and a lot of ’60s / 70’s bands that shaped what their sound is today. They released their first EP back in 2021 followed by some singles like “Hear Angels Cry“, and today they are getting ready to release their debut album!
The cover sticks true to the original track, with no weird alterations or “modern” twists. Although they did write the cover with the modern audience in mind, Tillerman paid their respects to the timeless classic and delivered a top-notch tribute filled with an incredible performance by all members. Every note you remember and love from the original song is in there, as well as some cool yet minimal additions to the instrumentation.
The cover also comes with a very nice video, where you can see a man around his 60s picking up an old record and playing it on a dusty turntable. Just like one would rejoice in the sounds and music of one’s past, the man closes his eyes and lets himself get carried away by the nostalgia of those distant melodies.
