Bristol, UK-based artist Kid Lazuras is back with their latest single, “All Over Again” and it’s an experience. The track is a release from their upcoming full-length debut album Utopia, scheduled for mid-August, and a follow-up to their debut single “In Ether”. “All Over Again” is an example of how creative and unique Kid Lazuras’ sound can be, and has us excited to hear more.

With inspiration from post-punk, new wave, and electronica, their music sounds incredibly fresh and new. On the new song, we hear a solid influence of acid jazz as well as funk and dream pop, and the results are completely stunning. It’s a track that feels complete in its build-up and dynamics like very few others from rising artists – it’s kind of mind-blowing that this is going to be released so early in their career. The way the production keeps adding layers and layers of interesting sounds and instrumentals that flow along the crystal-clear vocals is mesmerizing, and when the pianos come in after the chorus it’s cathartic.
Borrowing elements from 90s experimental acts such as Cibo Matto, Kid Lazuras creates an atmosphere that feels familiar at the same time that it sounds like nothing else. The lyrics also come from a very interesting angle, with the chorus going ‘I think I’m falling out of love with you all over again‘ and continue saying things like ‘and I don’t know what to do‘ and ‘there isn’t much more I can do‘, it almost an anti-love song that manages to avoid the regretful clichés that usually come with those. Instead, it sounds like a peaceful realization.
Kid Lazuras is for sure an astonishing artist, who’s making music that sounds innovative and creative in ways that very few others do. “All Over Again” is a remarkable song that hits every possible mark, and leaves you wanting more.
