American-Swedish indie pop duo Grace & Moji start off their career with an absolutely beautiful single, “Our Love”. The husband and wife duo got married at the very beginning of the pandemic just before the lockdown and had to fully get to know each other in unusual circumstances. Soon the couple embarked on a musical journey together and started working on this project, that we finally get to hear.

Grace Hong was born and raised in New York, a child of Korean immigrants, and studied piano and singing from a very young age. Martin Wave is from Sweden and has already established himself as an award-winning record producer and multi-instrumentalist. The two met just three months before getting married and persevered to keep going and healing each other.
Their debut single is a token of their love and the weird and tough times in which they got together, and it’s an absolutely perfect way of introducing this project to the world. ‘Forever seems too short‘ is the opening line, the very first thing we hear and it sets the tone for the song. It’s about love and complicity, about being there for each other and helping each other go through things. It’s a healing song. ‘Our love is bringing us closer, is taking us higher‘, they continue on the chorus.
The production on this thing is impeccable, going strongly with indie folk vibes; a lot of ethereal synths and strings with acoustic guitars and pianos, and their two voices combined as one. It sounds so deep and personal to them, it feels almost as if we’re peering through their window and getting a glimpse of their everyday life together. “Our Love” has got an amazing dream pop vibe to it, and it reminds me a lot of some of the best Taylor Swift songs from Midnights (especially the 3AM Edition).
The video gives that exact energy and feeling of mundane lives, the song is an ode to the unbreakable bond they share, and how the complexities of their relationship have inspired them to create music together. It’s intimate and it fits the whole vibe of the song so well, you can’t help but feel all of their love as you watch it.

“Our Love” is just a beautiful song, written about the simple things in life that just feel brighter when you’re with someone you love – and it’s about that love. The way they keep lifting each other up with each line is absolutely sweet and endearing. Grace & Moji’s debut single is like very, very few others.
