Shockpowder continues his path of delivering profound music. His compositions try to portray the depth of the human psyche with all its emotions, good and bad. Especially the dark ones. But in a unique balance of mystery, explosiveness, and ease, the Aylesbury-based musician carefully crafts paths into our own consciousness.
Shockpowder was formed in 2015, heavily influenced by post-rock, shoegaze, and metal bands such as Alcest, Slowdive, and God is an Astronaut. It is a project made to paint dreams with sound, intending to capture the power and emotional glory of dreams and the human psyche just as Goya’s black paintings captured the darkness of the soul.
“Horizon” is a track inspired by how you feel the first time you ever see the edge of the ocean where it meets the sky. Described by the artist as “beautifully terrifying”, the track aims to match that very sensation of being just a tiny spec in the cosmos.
You might feel like slowly sinking underwater while listening to the track, at a peaceful and slow pace. Let yourselves go while the crisp sound of warm guitars and solid drums comes at you in waves, as serenity hits you with every note and vocal melody.
