Built up as a warm mix of classic rock and art pop with that twinge of magic from the 80s and 90s, “Laughing, Talking, Loving” is a story of two hearts that can’t be together, told with a theatrical twist highlighting the yearning and deep love. I Panic has brought the depth behind little simple things into the lyrics, which is further accented by his emotive, uplifting, and heartwarming vocals. Those wishes building up deep in the heart are lined out in the backdrop of charming melodies that spin up some great energy despite that damned distance that the song would gladly erase.
There’s some welcome cheekiness embedded in the single as well, such as the joy coming from shocking other people. It’s a great inclusion in the track since no one’s better to get into mischief with than the one you love. I Panic also ends the song with some strong words of choice to properly drive home the disgruntled feeling – all those soft little things made impossible simply because of this distance.
“Laughing, Talking, Loving” is the first track to be released in a while from I Panic, who has been a little break since April this year. But the artist has lots more great music to come now with 8 brand new tunes lined up in his sleeves – so stay tuned!
