Kevin Franco, AKA The Muster Point Project, is a Canadian-based multi-instrumentalist who spends time around Calgary, Canadá and Santiago, Chile. After 5 years of visiting Chile, the musician felt inspired to write a song that celebrates his good times, as well as all the friends he’s made there.
“Escribí esta canción para mis nuevos amigos en Chile, han sido increíbles al darme la bienvenida a su país y a sus hogares. Me di cuenta que en las fiestas y asados a mis nuevos amigos les gusta cantar las canciones que suenan en la radio. Como no crecí en Chile, no estoy familiarizado con las canciones de Soda Stereo, Los Prisioneros, Los Bunkers, Los Tres, La Ray y Los Jaivas, lo que me dificulta cantar con mis amigos.”
The Muster Point Project
Unfamiliar to the culture of the country, including its music, Franco started to discover the fantastic Spanish-speaking bands beloved by thousands in Latin America like Soda Stereo, Los Prisioneros, Los Bunkers, and Los Jaivas, but he still wasn’t familiar to their songs, making it difficult for him to sing along with his friends in the backyard parties.
Hence, “Como Los Jaivas” was born. A track made specifically for Kevin and his friends to sing along. It begins as an innocent Folk track, and it progresses as it slowly turns into a big and exploding Rock track, filled with great guitar solos and evocative choruses.
“He llegado a apreciar mucho la música que conocen mis amigos y me he convertido en un gran admirador de Los Jaivas en particular, incluso vi su show en diciembre pasado en Pudahuel. Entonces, esta canción también es un homenaje a los increíbles Los Jaivas.”

En resumen, este es un gran track nacido del amor hacia una cultura completamente diferente, profunda y llena de color. Es una celebración del calor chileno hacia los extranjeros, y una canción que explota de emoción y merece estar en tu playlist.
