Few times do we encounter with a talented / dreamy voice within a top-notch House-like production. More so, with a team of artists that shine through their authenticity. Roisin Quinn and Double Triangle made the perfect musical match for today’s single, and it is as wholesome as it is delightful.
The two artists first met studying GCSE music together at Harlow’s Mark Hall School, bonding over a shared love of piano and Chopin.
“Running From Yourself” was originally written as an autobiography about Quinn growing up in Harlow. Her sound has been described as “Charming…delicate and understated” by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, and Freshonthenet’s Steve Harris called her writing “Succinct and sharp…wry lines…straightforward honesty”.
Double Triangle’s remix is a powerful yet lush re-imagination of the original single. Vibrant, colorful, and with an experienced sound, the remix captivates us from the get-go with its garage-like drums, groovy bass, and eloquent synth melodies.
Double Triangle has self-released five solo tracks including Rompler, Peony Blossom, Haberdashery, Brenda, Peacekeeper, and a remix of Madil Hardis’s Jolly Sailor Bold. His strong melodic underpinning blends genres and musical influences seamlessly, creating a distinctive sound to both dance and dream to.
You can really feel (and listen to) the chemistry between these two. The track is not only refreshing, but it is also made with the upmost finesse, making me wanna vibe to it all day long. It sure is an excellent track, one that we definitely recommend.
